About:  Ziggy was a fun pet. She would sit on my shoulder or she would investigate everything in my office to see what she could take back home and that included a thumb drive. I guess she was a pack rat. Needless to say that rats can't have free roam or they'll chew everything including window sills. Rats truly are intelligent creatures and a lot of fun. Just be sure to give them a large wire cage with a good quality water bottle, a hammock for cozy sleeping and a cardboard box for privacy. While rats will eat almost anything, provide a healthy diet and research what "human" foods are safe. Even though rats love it, don't give them peanut butter because it can block their small digestive system. Rats live about two years.

Favorite food:  Main diet was Oxbow Essentials Adult Rat Food, but a variety of daily treats to keep her happy!

Favorite toy:  Ziggy was fascinated with everything.
